What kind of bikes are included?

Our modern fleet of meticulously maintained e-Bikes and track and trail bikes ensures a smooth, hassle-free ride.  In the unlikely event of a mechanical issue, we’ll be right there to get you back on track. Each comes with a helmet, complimentary pannier, complimentary gel seat cover, lights, puncture kit, and pump. Whether you prefer traditional cycling or want the ease of an e-Bike, Big Sky Bike Adventures has you covered.

Can I upgrade to an eBike?

Yes, you can upgrade to an e-bike for an additional cost. e-Bikes make climbing effortless and let you cover each section faster, so you can spend more time enjoying Central Otago’s scenery.  They’re popular with riders of all ages, especially for multi-day Rail Trail journeys.

Can I bring my own bike?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you’re welcome to bring your own bike. A $25 administration fee applies, plus $30 if your bike needs to travel on one of our shuttles. Please ensure your bike can fit on a hanger rack. We’ll handle the logistics while you enjoy the ride.

Do you offer gear for kids?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we offer child seats, children’s bikes, wee-hoo's and trailers so families can ride together. Let us know your children’s ages when booking and we’ll recommend the best setup for a safe and enjoyable Rail Trail experience.

Question 5

What support is available if I get a puncture or breakdown?

Accepted Answer

Each bike comes with a puncture kit and pump. We expect that you’ll try to deal with a puncture yourself but If you can’t fix it, call us and we’ll arrange help. Full mechanical backup is always available, so you’ll never be left stranded on the trail.
